Premium AR550 Steel: Manufactured from 1/4" thick, laboratory-certified AR550 ballistic-grade steel, these plates offer exceptional hardness and strength, effectively stopping higher velocity rounds such as 5.56 XM193/M855 (Green Tip)/SS109, and 7.62x51mm (.308 Winchester) at velocities up to 3,100 fps.  

Advanced Curvature: The Advanced Triple Curve (ATC) design offers one of the most ergonomic steel plate fits available. The contour hugs the torso and shoulders naturally, allowing for better mobility and less fatigue during extended wear.

Encapsaloc™ Spall Mitigation Coating: Each plate is available with Spartan Armor Systems' proprietary Encapsaloc™ coating, designed to effectively trap and mitigate bullet fragmentation upon impact, thereby reducing the risk of injury from spall.
