Premium AR550 Steel: Manufactured from 1/4" thick, laboratory-certified AR550 ballistic-grade steel, these plates offer exceptional hardness and strength, effectively stopping higher velocity rounds such as 5.56 XM193/M855/SS109, and 7.62 M80 Ball (.308 Winchester) at velocities up to 3,100 fps.  

Encapsaloc™ Spall Mitigation Coating: Each plate is available with Spartan Armor Systems' proprietary Encapsaloc™ coating, designed to effectively trap and mitigate bullet fragmentation upon impact, thereby reducing the risk of injury from spall.

Close-Quarters Combat Protection: When operating in confined spaces, side shots become more likely due to dynamic movement and lateral angles. These plates give you the confidence that comes with knowing you have full, 360-degree coverage.
